[ED-TECH] WOOP! Wish Outcome Obstacle Plan (Posted on Yammer)

I am no longer sending things to the Ed-Tech mailing list. I am now posting those things on the miami.edu Yammer system. If you miss my musings about education and technology, please join Yammer and follow me. You can set it up so you get an email for everything I post in a public group on Yammer. About the same as my old Ed-Tech list posting.

I just listened to a podcast about WOOP, a way of moving wishes to accomplishments. If you have used miami.edu Yammer, you can read it with this link:

If you have not used miami.edu Yammer, and/or want to get email whenever I post something publicly on Yammer, you should follow the detailed instructions below.

Log in to Yammer

1. Go to mail.miami.edu and log in. (If you can't do that, please let me know. I am guessing that everyone can get into mail.miami.edu, but I have no real data to support that guess.)

2. Click on the "waffle" menu (also called the "Apps" menu) in the upper left corner, and select the "Yammer" tile.

3. I think when you get to Yammer for the first time, you have to create a profile. If so, go ahead and do it.

"Follow" me

4. When you get into Yammer search for "Bill Vilberg" using the search box, and then click on my name next to my picture.

5. When my page comes up there should be a "Follow" button in the upper right corner. Click on it. Now all of my posts will appear in your Yammer inbox.

Change Settings to get email notifications

6. At the bottom of the Yammer groups menu, click on the Settings (gear) icon near your name. Then click on the EDIT SETTINGS item in the pop up menu.

7. Check the box in order to get sent email when you receive a message in your Yammer inbox.

From then on you will get an email notification whenever I post something. The email will contain the beginning of the post, and link to the conversatation on Yammer.

If you have any problems with this process, or having any questions about Yammer, please let me know. I have been using it for years within my group (Learning Platforms) and department (Academic Technologies).
