[ED-TECH] Clickers in the classroom

I encourage everyone to learn about the use of clickers in the classroom. When the students have clickers, you can "poll the audience" just like they do on "Who wants to be a millionaire." People with large classes or people who tend to lecture a lot should be sure to consider using clickers to increase student engagement, gather formative assessment data, and adjust their teaching to the needs of their students. Almost any class can benefit from the appropriate use of clickers. Please consider using them in your courses this Fall. Since the University has standardized on the i>clicker product, the students only buy one clicker for use in all their classes. There is no cost to you, the instructor, since the IAC provides your Instructor clicker and the base unit that collects the results.

On Tuesday, March 23 (this coming Tuesday) we have scheduled information/training sessions so that you can have time to consider using these for your courses next Fall. If you are free, please consider signing up now.

Go to http://www.miami.edu/iac and click on the "Events" link to register for any of these sessions.
