·        How to find the RIGHT shapefile

·        Downloading shapefiles

-          What extensions to look for

·        Using ArcMap

·        Connecting to folders

·        Displaying the shapefiles

 

 

Session 2 - Wednesday, July 9, 3-4pm, GIS Lab - Register

 

The Manipulation: Attributes, Fields, Identification, and Normalization

(Review the previous workshop)

·        What is an attribute table?

·        What are fields?

·        Displaying fields

·        Identifying items of interest

·        Displaying MORE fields

·        Normalizing data

-          Why normalize data?

 

Session 3 - Wednesday, July 16, 3-4pm, GIS Lab - Register

 

The Presentation: Maps, Editing, Visual balance, and Exporting

·        Making the map

-          Layout mode

-          What all maps need

·        Editing the map

-          Editing the Legend
